My name is M. Şamil DANIŞMANOĞLU. I am teaching English at high school and working as English lecture teacher for 5 years.school.

I know this technique for many years and our teachers were also using this technic when I am student at university. That is so useful and smart technique especially when you are teaching a foreign language.

Sometimes teaching English language  needs some practical and smart ways. You can not teach language only with grammar. You have to teach speaking, listening and reading too. I use this technic especially for speaking and listening.

Dividing students to groups and taking place around tables. Each group has their own topic and they start to talk by one by when begin. I am asking and telling new words while they are talking, by this way lectures becomes more interesting. For example, one group is talking about hospital and health system and I am adding new words when they begin to talk. By this way all class learning new words and shy students likes me supporting them during their turn. Each student has to talk and by this way some students begin to be more active and talkative. Many new words belong to topics take place in their mind. The groups can have same topic or each group can have different topic. After a time schedule they begin to talk and sometimes other groups join to talk by telling their ideas or opposite. Sharing knowledge is important and I would like to do it and show it to whole class by this technique. All students share their own ideas by this way and the climate of the class changes to positive very fast.

Students fill free about speaking and more talkative. Some students are shy during lectures but by this technique they are not shy anymore and do not afraid of making mistakes during talking and expressing themselves. Sometimes some students asking for more talking duration and insisting for more time. That shows how they like this technique.

If any teacher wants to take students attention and take all in lecture actively then they can use this technique. Shy students, some aggressive ones who doesn’t want to involve and such ones will take an active role during speaking at their turn. This is so useful for my lectures but other teachers at different lectures can also use it. I strongly recommend them to use it.
