Having entrepreneurial experience of 9 years, Syam Nair has’ been constantly involved in development and implementation of multiple STEM projects under state run colleges and schools in India. He was also one of the panel members of innovation oriented mentorship community developed for young entrepreneurs and college going students in India. Currently Syam is working as a research assistant at National University of Ireland, Galway.

Story telling is a powerful creativity tool especially to inspire learners to think in a new perspective. Engineering is an extreme theoretical area as much as it is a practical environment, and story telling is a powerful tool for inspiring young learners. Being a teacher, I have used story telling as a method to inspire students to observe and identify problems in daily life and view them from different perspectives. This provided a two pronged approach in addressing the skills required by engineers.

1. Identifying problems in real world while minimizing perspective bias
2. Linking theoretical concepts to practical world problems

The story telling was always conducted in an informal setting encouraging the learners to interact freely and whenever possible I have also included speakers from industry to give insights into the thinking process involved in the industry.
