Where does it come from

Six Thinking Hats is a method designed by Edward de Bono. According to Wikipedia, Australian psychologist Michael Hewitt-Gleeson states that the method was originally developed in 1983 during a brainstorming session involving Edward de Bono, Eric Bienstock and himself.

Although the Six Thinking Hats technique was primarily designed to help organizations run more efficient meetings and to ease the decision making processes, its educational and problem-solving value has also been fully proved in education now-a-days.
