What is this technique about

The 100 Euro Test is often referred to as the 100 Dollar Test or Divide the Dollar.  The 100 euro test is a technique that is frequently used in software development to assist users in creating a prioritized list.  It can, however, be used to any situation in which creating a “false scarcity” helps focus a group’s demands and requirements.

Participants give relative value to a list of products using this method of prioritization by spending a fictitious 100 euros jointly.  By incorporating the concept of money, the activity garners more attention and keeps participants interested than an arbitrary point system would.
