Tips & Tricks

  • To generate as many ideas as possible, ask as many questions as possible within each SCAMPER perspective.
  • Postpone rational thinking, do not value or criticise any idea, especially if they’re others’. Not every idea will be viable, but this is an opportunity to discover a new perspective.
  • Every idea that comes up in the session should be somehow recorded, so as to prevent them from disappearing. You can record them on post-its, and describe what it will consist of and, very importantly, how it will be carried out.
  • Each step of this technique needs to be assessed with reference to a specific learning topic or goal.
  • Take the necessary time to reflect and discuss the ideas, this can be around 20-30 minutes.
  • Finally select the best ideas and solutions by grouping them into similar concepts.
