For which purposes it is used

This technique may be used to enhance critical and divergent thinking and it is also widely used as a problem-solving ideation technique, aimed to come up with innovative ideas and approaches toward a given problem, situation or fact. It is precisely for this reason that SCAMPER is considered to be a technique for generating new ideas that works particularly well when the aim is to improve an existing situation, service or product.

For VET students, SCAMPER may be a highly useful tool to help them explore their creativity skills and their capability to come up with ideas. Using and invoking this methodology we can turn old knowledge into new insights just by changing the point of view. Plus, as a holistic technique of study helps reaching the best decision which fuels innovation and could be easily adapted to different scenarios, depending on the subject of your VET curricula.

This technique can also be used by students and teachers for coaching and assessment.
