What is this technique about

Stotytelling is a very old technique, which consists of telling stories about experiences similar to the problem to be solved. It is ideal to apply in the classroom because with it we manage to capture the attention of the students, to contextualize the problem through the story of an analogous situation that is more familiar and motivating, to promote their ability to analyze before the different cause-effect relationships that occur in the story, and to enhance their empathy.

Storytelling is a very versatile technique as it can be applied individually or in groups. It encourages cooperative learning because it allows debate and argumentation of the different situations that occur in the tale from different points of view. It is flexible, since the story can have different ramifications that can be introduced in a convenient way to direct the student’s learning process. And it does not require any type of resource for its application except those that we freely want to use to capture the attention of the student and the understanding of the story.
