For which purposes it is used

When one is trapped in existing thinking paradigms or has run out of ideas, assumption busting may be very beneficial. The Assumption Busting technique is designed to assist groups (school teachers/ students groups) in breaking free from their present thinking paradigms and gaining a fresh perspective on the issue by questioning their assumptions. When faced with a creative challenge, we all make assumptions about the world around us, which might obstruct our ability to recognize or generate solutions. Finding and challenging previously unchallenged assumptions is a deliberate way of stimulating creative thinking. Assumptions are facts that have been accepted without question. The tool assists you in determining what these assumptions are and whether or not they are genuinely a source of difficulty. Additionally, the act of “busting,” or breaking down the assumption, will lead to additional ideas. This technique will also aid in the development of a Conceptual Framework.
